I met a wonderful soul….and her name is Dava Muramatsu and she is the owner of Matsu on Newbury St. here in Boston….
and after shooting with her, for the first time – this is what she was kind enough to write about me….
“I was blessed with the opportunity to work with a very talented and up and coming photographer.
Her name is Ginger de Vegh. She executed my vision with such ease, and the most thrilling results were her use of natural light. No studio set ups., no back lights and reflectors. The whole experience was organic and natural. I highly recommend her and if you need a photographer for any reason, please call Matsu or visit her website”
How flattering is THAT???? ((blushing…))
I met her at Mizu Salon the night of Nirvas’ show…and immediately I knew she was a special person and that we were meant to work together…. She is bright, and energetic, and has such a warm spirit about her…. During this “brief” whirlwind of a meeting, it was very quickly settled that I was going to shoot her jewelry line “Nymph” that she was adding new pieces to in the next 2 weeks. In fact, the very next day – she was heading to Paris to search for new stones and metals and woods to work with when she returned…..
I made sure that I followed up the next day via email – and she immediately got back to me – equally excited to shoot. Mind you, this woman had never seen my work or if I even owned a camera (well, that’s a lie – I had a camera at the event – but you get my point!) She was fueled by gut-instinct that I could do this “job” and that I would see her vision…..her quest for explaining her jewelry through pictures….
When she returned from a quick trip to FL to work on the collection – our schedules didn’t match up – as I was heading to NYC to my exhibit at The Art of Fashion @ Webster Hall… BUT, when I returned – that quickly changed. I got a message AND an email that she needed pics next to immediately, as she had been interviewed by an online magazine www.Misstropolis.com that needed pics to add to the story. This was on Monday, Oct. 19th. We shot on Tuesday, and she had disc in hand, with the photos to send off… Wednesday evening – she called me, excited to share the moment with me – of opening the email from Robin Hauck at Misstropolis – with the Interview and pics….

I hope you enjoy her jewelry as much as I do….it is beautiful and soulful, just like she is… Thank you Dava, for being a part of my life and this journey…
Til next time…
